Poplar Estates Homeowners Cooperative is a close community in Montesano, WA made up of many families. They were understandably fearful, when in March of 2025, they received notice that the land beneath their homes was for sale.When the residents were notified of the Sellers intent to sell, they immediately reached out requesting a meeting with ROC Northwest and began the cooperative acquisition process. On March 29th, the first membership meeting discussed what a cooperative acquisition would look like. The meeting was widely attended with a unanimous vote to move forward with resident acquisition.Last September, after hard work from the board and membership, the cooperative took ownership of the park, and has been operating it ever since. They have loved the control and stability that cooperative ownership has given them and look forward to the future of their ROC and home. They were supported through generous grant funding from the Department of Commerce and a loan from ROC USA Capital, ensuring an affordable purchase for the residents of the park.There are 45 membership eligible homes in the property, and at this time, there are 39 members who have joined the cooperative.
