Celebrate Co-ops! Each Spring Co-op in the NW gather in Olympia to promote the co-op model and celebrate our successes!
As the nation continues to age, in-home caregiving continues to be one of the fastest-growing service sectors. Co-ops offer caregivers control over their working conditions, better wages, and even benefits.
We help negotiate the conversions of manufactured home parks into resident-owned communities by bringing willing sellers and residents together.
Co-op Conferences, Meet-ups, and other special events in the Pacific Northwest concerning the social economy. If you have an event that you would like to list, please drop us a line.
The Legacy Project seeks to raise awareness among business owners and their advisors on the value of selling existing businesses to the employees as a cooperative.
Your donation of any amount is tax-deductible up to the limits set by law. Please consider sponsoring our efforts to build sustainable local economies through the cooperative business model.
The Next Generation
By 2024, all “Baby Boomers” (those born from 1946 through 1964) will be at least 60 years old. As business owners from this birth cohort plan their retirement, they may not readily find a buyer or have family members interested in keeping the business operational. It is estimated that only 20% of current small businesses will transfer to a new owner. We can help increase that percentage by working with the owners and the employees to create a worker cooperative.
